Alabama Fallen Firefighter Memorial

Fallen Firefighter Memorial on the Fire College Campus located in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

The Alabama Fire College is proud to be the home of the Alabama Firefighter Memorial. The Alabama Joint Fire Council, made up of representatives from the Alabama Association of Fire Chiefs, the Alabama Firefighters Association, the Alabama Association of Volunteer Fire Departments and the Professional Fire Fighters Association of Alabama unanimously agreed that a monument should be erected to serve as the official memorial to honor fire fighters of Alabama who have given their lives in the Line-of-Duty and to pay tribute to those fire fighters who heroically serve with pride, courage and honor. Afterwards, on June 11, 2003, The House and Senate of the Alabama Legislature passed a joint resolution designating the Alabama Firefighter Memorial as the official fire fighters memorial for the State of Alabama. On October 19th, 2004 this dream became a reality. The first Annual Fallen Firefighter memorial took place.

The memorial serves as a symbol of gratitude to the men and women of the fire service who risk their lives every day to protect the people of Alabama.

The memorial also has  a “Walk of Honor” to include the sponsorship of personalized bricks to allow fire fighters, families and friends of Alabama’s fire service to be recognized and become part of the memorial. The Memorial’s design limits the number of bricks available.
