Ralph Cobb

Ralph Cobb was appointed to the Alabama Fire College and Personnel Standards Commission by the Governor in 2006. Presently serving as Chief of Madison Fire & Rescue, Chief Cobb began his service as a volunteer firefighter in 1981. Chief Cobb holds a Master of Education degree from Auburn University and is a graduate of the National Fire Academy's Executive Fire Officer Program.

 

Annual Captain Drake Award nomination Criteria

AFA awards firefighters whose achievement in the fire service provides an example of exemplary performance.

The awards committee established by the president each year will review each nominee. In the event of a tie the president shall cast a vote in order to break the tie.

Submission Deadline: All nominations shall be postmarked by May 1, each year, the person that submits the nominee will be sent an acknowledgement.

The award will be presented at the annual convention each year. The submitter and the receiver of the Captain Drake award will be notified prior to the convention in an effort for them to make arrangements to attend the convention if at all possible.
